If you are using Windows Vista, please be sure your system meets the minimum requirement of 1 Gb memory
To install DealerClick on Windows Vista machines:
You must be logged as an Administrator.
Disable User Account Control (UAC)
Use one of the following methods:
1) Go to your Desktop and click on Start -> Settings -> Control
Panel
2) Double click on "User Accounts"
3) Click on "Turn User Account Control On or Off"
4) When Vista asks for permission, click "Continue"
5) At the User Account Control Screen, click on the checkbox to select
whether you want to turn UAC on or off
6) Click the "OK" button
or
1) Right click on Taskbar
2) Select Task Manager
3) Click File -> Select New Task
4) Type "msconfig" and click OK
5) Select the "Tools" Tab in System Configuration (MSConfig).
6) Select the "Disable UAC" tool and click on the "Launch" button.
7) Restart the computer. (This is required to reflect the updated settings.)
Now install the DealerClick CD
After installing DealerClick, complete the following:
Configure Access to DealerClick Folder
- Right Click on the Start circle
- Click 'Explore'
- Browse to c:\Program Files
- Right Click on the DlrClick folder, select 'Properties'
- Click on the 'Security' tab
- Set the security so all users have full control of the DlrClick folder.
a) Click the Edit button
b) Click the first name listed in the top box
c) Click the Full Control checkbox so all items are checked in the bottom box
d) Click the Apply button
e) Repeat for all names listed
f) Click the Add button
g) Type "Everyone" in the box where the cursor is flashing.
h) Click the Check Names button
i) Click OK
j) Repeat steps b, c, d for the Everyone name
- Click 'Apply', then 'OK' till back to the Desktop
If you still experience issues, do the following:
Configure Desktop Icons for DealerClick
- Right Click on each of the icons for DealerClick
- Select 'Properties'
- Click 'Advanced'
- Select 'Run as Administrator'
- Click 'Apply', then 'OK' till back to the Desktop
